MM Challenge #4 The Disney Inspired page

Do you see the glass as...

Sometimes our perspective on life's events can color our whole outlook on life.

When considering which Disney flick to use for this challenge, I went back to the Classics in the Disney vault, to the days when the Wonderful World of Disney in Color, was a weekend favorite on TV, and singled out one in particular, Pollyanna.

Pollyanna came to live with her aunt after the deaths of her parents. They had been missionaries in the British West Indies. With her she brought and shared with just about the whole town was an outlook that saw the good, or the benefit in even the most discouraging of circumstances. Pollyanna's father began the game as a result of a missionary barrel that arrived without Pollyanna's long hoped for doll, but instead, a pair of crutches. Together they found that they could be glad that they didn't need the crutches. And so goes the story, Pollyanna helps so many in town to see things from a different point of view. This became the subject of the photos I used for this challenge. My inspiration for the colors I used came from a dress Pollyanna wore in the movie, and the embellishments came in response to the statement from a house maid that "life isn't all hearts and flowers."

DeNami Adorable Animals extra!

If you are here for the DeNami Design Adorable Animals Blog Hop...see yesterday's post..this is an extra card I HAD to finish and post today!

I've been under the weather for several weeks now, but I had these ideas for the DeNami Blog Hop for Adorable Animals for quite some time. The card I posted yesterday was the official card...but I had to try to get this second one done too!

You see..I made my very first purchase of a chickie with the little cowboy chickie (D153)
in the newest line of western stamps!

I decided I wanted to use several of the other DeNami stamps to create my own bandana paper to accent the card. The stamps were: F229 Berry Wreath, A89 Mini Starlet, PF55 Whimsical Valentine, and PF58 Garden Accents.

I used Cuttlebug embossing folder Textile to achieve a tooled leather look on Core'dination's tan and brown cardstock. On the navy Core'dinations I ripped and sanded for a look of old faded jeans. A few antique copper brads to anchor the "leather" patch with the cowboy chickie and the Howdy greeting from the PF61 Cowboy stamp set finish this card. The chickie is colored in with Prismacolor pencils.

DeNami Adorable Animals Blog Hop

DeNami February Blog Hop

Welcome to the DeNami Design February Adorable Animals Blog Hop!

Have you been with us since the beginning at the DeNami Blog? Then you've just been at Emily Keaton's "My Little Slice of Bliss". Emily never fails to deliver a great project or two and no doubt she's true to form today! I hope you enjoyed what she presented  and are looking forward to the remaining stops along the Hop.

Here's my card today.

On a white card base I used a 4"x 5.25" mat of Bazzill Dotted Swiss lavendar cardstock. I created the baby quilt with the Small Quilt Circles (CCD-009) Crafty Cutt Dies from Art Gone Wild. The stamps I used were:
N143 Gingham Background
PF42 Love Sentiments
E133 Small Scallop Heart
E132 Small Heart Outline
C71 Small Side-view Sheep

I stamped the gingham stamp twice, once with Versa Magic Spring Pansy and then with Purple Hydrangea. I used my 1" punch to cut four squares from the darker Purple Hydrangea to put into the centers of four of the squares. The remaining squares have only the edges folded back revealing the Spring Pansy. The centers were a perfect spot to stamp the sheep. I used a section of the gingham to stamp the scallop heart and trim it out. Then in Spring Pansy stamped the outline heart and the phrase "with love" in the center in Purple Hydrangea. A little foam mounting tape to pop the heart for dimension.

I used the foam tape in the center of the quilt to create a raised center section to make it look like a baby is under, the head peeking out the top. The fringed edge is created with lavendar floss.
