To the Man who put the Camera in My Hand

Long before my Dad was married and had a family, he was an adventurer. He spent his lifetime teaching us to love to travel, explore and enjoy the great outdoors.
He passed away almost eleven years ago now, and in the end he really didn't know who I was, but a scrapbook album I put together (with some help from those who remembered things,) of his family and life before Canada/America was a place we connected. The power of photos and stories has been his legacy. I know people make fun of the slide shows that their friends would show, but I loved the slide shows Dad would run as they carried the narrative of my childhood.

It was on this trip that my love of photography was born and nurtured. My Dad put his Argus 35mm camera into my hands and taught me how to use it! This is just a small tribute in Memory of my Dad and all he taught me. It may have taken me half a century to be making something of the skills he once instilled, but I'm enjoying every minute of it!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's who stop and take the time to teach their children.

Fun in the Sun

Every once in a while I have to shift and reset from my 'normal' routine. I've been kept busy with posts for Mosaic Moments Design Team and blog posts for our new web site (www.MosaicMoments.com), and then there's the house full of people and kids and sometimes it's a bit nuts!

So to regroup and refresh I'm going to dabble with a freebie from Kimeric Kreations. This is offered in The Digichicks forum for their June 2014 Use it All challenge.

The obvious requirement is to use every piece in the kit at least once. You might  like to try your hand a this quick challenge if you need a little refreshing, and of course...I love the soft shabby feel of Kimeric Kreations kits and I highly recommend them...and Kim always has tons of freebie clusters too on her blog site!!

For this layout I used one of my favorite photos I took for a recent project making a mini album using Moasic Moments RTC Grid Papers to see them in our store Click here to visit Wish in the Wind, LLC

Here's a quick peek at the album:

So, now it's back to work...see you soon!

E160 Solid Leaf Sprig
F214 Praying For You
The additional products are pictured below.

To be framed in a 4"x4" frame

To be attached to a card...that can later be detached and framed.

The product I used to place each of the 1" squares is the RTC paper in black. We have white RTC paper currently in stock and will be introducing new colors next week...
be sure to Click here to visit Wish in the Wind, LLC and see the RTC Grid Papers!

Above is one section of the RTC paper. Nine sections are on a sheet and can be used as one whole sheet or individually used for cards, mini-albums and a multitude of other projects. I began with a 3" square and used the mat and X-Acto knife and metal cork back ruler to cut into 9-1" squares.

Now here's the link to the very next stop on the Hop at our dear Paulina's Blog, Pretty Pink Posh, where all kinds of wonderfulness will be enjoyed!!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to comment to get a chance to win one of the $20.00 gift certificates for DeNami Designs shop.

Just Add Wood!

Just a change of pace today. A recent wedding had me trying a little something different. I have finally jumped into the wood embellishment trend. Thought I'd show off two ways I've incorporated it into my card making and scrapbooking this week.

I used a cute pair of birds on a branch from Endless Creations and Spectrum Noir markers to add a bit of color. The birdcage is from Lara's Crafts. Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Walnut Stain and Tea Dye were used to edge the image piece and stamp the greeting. A ribbon from Darice Trims with the bird cages provided some color inspiration as it tops the cage.

Here's the latest up on Mosaic Moments

On this Masculine Scrapbook Page Idea, I have created Balsa wood tiles to fit our grid page and once again, found Tim Holtz Distress Inks perfect to lightly stain each a different color. More details and tutorials on the leather-like paper I created to use can be found on the Tips and Technique section.

This week's featured products are the new Sage 12 x 12 Mosaic Moments Grid Paper and

the new color Trio of Paper Tiles in Confetti, Ultra Marine Blue and Green, now through Sunday!!
