Big Sale Countdown Continues!!

Some of the things on sale will be our grid paper... this is what you can do with the 8 x 8 size...create baby photo books!

turn a package of 8 x 8 grids from this...

...to this two sided album that can stand up to be displayed! It's ready for the recipient to complete!! What a gift idea!!

or make a pre-completed gift!

Maybe you'd like a baby album that you can add a photo a day of the new baby everyday for a year and keep track of monthly achievements too? We've got that too!

Lots of colorful grids and tiles...I made these layouts so the new mom can just pop in photos on top of the various mats.

Some Doodlebug Design pattern paper is a perfect match used to coordinate a full year...

Our bright color palette of 12 x 12 grid papers and our Calendar Pages.

Used the Cricut to cut titles.

Using an EK success punch to trim a photo to the size that will fit into the calendar layout I can have a photo a day of baby without a lot of work. Not sure when Baby will arrive? I provided the new mom with a set of stamps, ink and a calendar to start baby's year whenever she needs to begin!!

Then there's also the RTC paper...now in more colors and sizes!!
Mini Albums are a cinch with RTC.

from this...

...to this!

Just a few of the goodies that you can check out at snap-n-crop!

take a peek...

Need some inspiration for layouts? We have a whole section of patterns with examples to inspire you, and we even have FREE downloads that coordinate with our grid patterns like the alphabet used here...

Destination Moon: one boy's journey in search of the Final Frontier

Challenge #6 Be inspired by the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Universe.

This challenge had the team presenting pages inspired by the world of science fiction. Books, TV, movies even comic books have been conveying various stories over the years. I'm sure if you're a fan of sorts, there's one you enjoy more than the other.

I always enjoyed the Classic Star Trek...in the days of Capt. James T. Kirk...and the gadgets they had like communicators...a precursor of our mobile phones, or the portable computers they used for their reports that look a whole lot like our current tablets, like iPads.

This is my layout, showing a guide to several Space Centers that my youngest son and I have visited and will use this as an opening introduction page for the other pages I will put together to complete his book.

To see more of the details of the pages and a couple of tips on techniques, visit the Story Board on www.Journella.com for more of this and the rest of the Design Team. Come and visit!

Watercolor Techniques for Mosaics

It's beginning to look a lot like spring...really! The sun was shining two days in a row, snow was melting and it even reached fifty degrees!! Then it snowed again. There's hope, a heat wave should arrive in the morning...and be gone by Wednesday. It's getting better. Really.

Well let's catch up with a few of the posts I've been making lately. On the Story Board at Journella,
the latest was a nice snowy layout with lots of extras that you can see in detail HERE and this sneak peak  below.

Zoo Extra!!

The other day I posted my pages for the Mosaic Moments Circle Challenge with the promise of the next two pages I did of our day at the zoo. So today's the day...

the double page layout

There were so many beautiful floral beds throughout the zoo and I tried to capture as many as I could. The Hydrangea's were beautiful and I used two photos, one I reverse printed to get the look I wanted. My focal photo of the butterfly seat I've sectioned the center and added a Robin's Egg Paper Tile to highlight that center cropped photo.

For the sunflowers I used two photos 4x6 and kept all the pieces in order from top to bottom. I used most of one full photo and 4" of the other and only 3" down. With the extra pieces I could have  added them in elsewhere on this page or another.

the doors to the zoo also open to my hidden journaling

Now you may be saying that having a flap to hide the journaling means you'll never be able to access it, but there is a trick to make it all fairly easy to do.

Have your layout inside the page protector and be sure that it is firmly in place. Using an Exacto knife and a metal ruler works the best. Lay the ruler right alongside the folded edge of the journal block. This creates a nice taught surface perfect for making a good pierce through the plastic. Carefully cut along this edge being careful not to slice the folded edge or through the page below. Once completed slide the layout out far enough to slide the photo flap through the slot you've just created. The bottom half of your journaling will now be covered with the page protector.

to see more details on how to do this visit my Journella page where I go into more details on creating hidden journaling and cutting the page protectors.

September's Circle Challenge

Welcome to September and the Mosaic Moments Design Team Challenge!

Here's a peek at the layout I've posted at Journella.

This layout was one I found to be so very fun to work on and I have to say it is also responsible for making me aware of how I need to scrap my photos as soon as possible to really capture the excitement of the event!

Be sure to stop in to see all the details on Journella HERE

Here are a few photos to show you what I began with...

Two sheets of Black Mosaic Moments Grid Paper and one Ginger, all 12" x 12"and how I built on double color mats to keep the circle a bit more visible.

Click here to visit Wish in the Wind, LLC  to see the Mosaic Moments products.

Using a slightly darker (spice) tone from the background (ginger)
I wanted to have a clear definition of the shape.

I may return to this pattern another time to create a page where the shape
remains more visible in the end product. I'd like to play around with a few more color options!

Come and See the full layout and be sure to leave a comment
and visit the other Designer's papers too!

Mosaic Moments and the Alphabet Challenge

Well, the Alphabet Challenge turned out to be a challenge for many of the DT in various ways. More on that at Journella as you look at everyone's layouts!

However, the current Challenge posting on Journella is "My Spot on the Big Blue Marble"
and I have a sneak peek for you:

and now my main reason for posting today...back to the Alphabet challenge:

Take pictures that include Alphabet letters  - think of a message or a word you’d like to share - let it inspire the photos you take.

Example: You can take pictures that include signs, scrabble tiles, sidewalk chalk, chalk boards – or create your own letters using non-traditional materials.

Personally I chose to work with write-on boards and my subject was home schooling. I gathered a few friends and asked a few questions about their experience and requested a one word answer! I had hoped to go through the entire alphabet with signs, but had to settle for a nice layout, not overdone content. Here's a look at what I did, with more details available at my Journella Story Board spot!

For each of the families who helped me out, I took a few of the shots I took and tried a digital scrapbook page as a Thank You. I'd like to share a few with you today.

I used Forever Joy Design's Hydrangea Papers and Hydrangea Pretties (embellishments) for both of these first two layouts. Lot's of lovely designs can be found in her shop at Oscraps.

This one was with Merkely Designs Denimalicious papers, elements and alphabet that are now on sale! The tablet paper is my own creation added to carry the theme we were doing.

This last layout was created using Sweet Genevieve's Summer Soaked Watercolor Washed Papers. I purchased through Oscraps, but it seems that the Designer, Genevieve Kay, has discontinued this line and now can be found at Sweet Lilac Studio. I also used the coordinating alphabets and her ribbon wraps.

All fairly simple additions, but in time I may master the whole process of this new venue. I'm really just getting my feet wet at the moment with lots to learn!  Perhaps I'll even post the results too!

Come and Join us at Journella...it's a great place to post your work and...a new digital product is coming soon...Cropdog! You can watch for further announcements by liking their Facebook page "Cropdog"

Challenge #11 What makes You Smile?

Includes, paper clay, origami paper folding and a Raspberry Grid foundation. So do stop in and see what the Design Team is doing! We'd love to have you stop by.

Thanks for dropping in here, it seems I'm running behind on so many things lately, hope you enjoyed catching up!
