Challenge
July's Mosaic Moments Challenge: Photos inspired by a Series of Images

Choose a subject and photograph a series of images based on that subject.
Examples of some photo series:

Here is a page I created with my photo series:
RainDrops_web
Since I really love looking at rain drops on flowers and plants, I decided to create a series about it. I like the interesting textures and how the rain makes the flowers glisten. I went outside after it rained and took many close up shots of the flowers to show all the glittery drips and drops. I also found a little poem that fit with the theme of my photo series. This page is personal to me since it shows and expresses how I enjoy observing the rain drops.
A photo series is wonderful if you want to give your page a specific message (the tutu project is good example). It is also a great way to learn or discover a new subject. Make sure the series you choose is personal to you. Think about things you like, what messages/beliefs you have and different perspectives you would like to explore. Also take many photographs - get close ups and take photos from a distance as well.

If you decide to join us be sure to upload your finished project to Journella, by June 21st. If you haven't visited Journella yet, you really need to check out the community there!

Thanks for dropping by for the latest challenge, come and play along with the team!

Christmas in July

Greetings!
Christmas in July is always a nice way to break with the heat and humidity of summer. This time I decided to play along with SuzyQScraps Challenge for a digital layout using a song.

I've used papers, elements, and alphas from her Memories & Moments Bundle. In addition to the alphas in the set I used a couple of extra fonts, from Creative Keepsakes there was CK Holiday, CK Black Out and also Freebooter Script for the "fa la la la la la la la la."

I think it's a good way to beat the heat by thinking of more Christmas projects to get wrapped up in.

Before I began this winter journey I began with a real summery digi-layout today that I'll share as a bonus!

This was made using SuzyQScraps Sunshine.
Have a great day and remember...it's never too late to start planning for Christmas!!

thanks for dropping by...

Mosaic Moments and the Alphabet Challenge

Well, the Alphabet Challenge turned out to be a challenge for many of the DT in various ways. More on that at Journella as you look at everyone's layouts!

However, the current Challenge posting on Journella is "My Spot on the Big Blue Marble"
and I have a sneak peek for you:

and now my main reason for posting today...back to the Alphabet challenge:

Take pictures that include Alphabet letters  - think of a message or a word you’d like to share - let it inspire the photos you take.

Example: You can take pictures that include signs, scrabble tiles, sidewalk chalk, chalk boards – or create your own letters using non-traditional materials.

Personally I chose to work with write-on boards and my subject was home schooling. I gathered a few friends and asked a few questions about their experience and requested a one word answer! I had hoped to go through the entire alphabet with signs, but had to settle for a nice layout, not overdone content. Here's a look at what I did, with more details available at my Journella Story Board spot!

For each of the families who helped me out, I took a few of the shots I took and tried a digital scrapbook page as a Thank You. I'd like to share a few with you today.

I used Forever Joy Design's Hydrangea Papers and Hydrangea Pretties (embellishments) for both of these first two layouts. Lot's of lovely designs can be found in her shop at Oscraps.

This one was with Merkely Designs Denimalicious papers, elements and alphabet that are now on sale! The tablet paper is my own creation added to carry the theme we were doing.

This last layout was created using Sweet Genevieve's Summer Soaked Watercolor Washed Papers. I purchased through Oscraps, but it seems that the Designer, Genevieve Kay, has discontinued this line and now can be found at Sweet Lilac Studio. I also used the coordinating alphabets and her ribbon wraps.

All fairly simple additions, but in time I may master the whole process of this new venue. I'm really just getting my feet wet at the moment with lots to learn!  Perhaps I'll even post the results too!

Come and Join us at Journella...it's a great place to post your work and...a new digital product is coming soon...Cropdog! You can watch for further announcements by liking their Facebook page "Cropdog"
